Yesterday, Apple launched a CDMA version of the iPhone 4 and they might just as well bring its CDMA iPhone services to Asia. There are chances that Apple and Reliance or Tata could get together and bring a CDMA iPhone to India.
What’s interesting about Verizon iPhones is that these phones are not exclusive. This means, that Apple can team up with other carriers in the US or with other services in other parts of the world.
Presently, only the iPhone 3GS is available (legally) with Airtel and Vodafone and they are GSM locked versions. As per sources, Apple might launch their CDMA iPhones in India sometime in mid 2011.
If this does happen, you will see many more users around in India carrying iPhones. There’s no confirmation about this, so it’s advised that you don’t get too excited right now.
